Vehicle hosts

Your car, and real backup if anything goes sideways.

WeCar screens guests, holds the booking record, and keeps a local team available if a trip needs human attention.

How hosting works

List your vehicle

Describe the car, set your price and availability, and declare your insurance. Your listing goes live once the basics are in order.

Receive requests

When a guest requests your car, you see the trip dates, route, and their booking record. You confirm or decline — the car does not move without your acceptance.

Meet the guest

Pickup happens with you, not at a counter. The guest has been through WeCar's booking path and the trip details are agreed before they drive.

Earn your payout

Your payout is released after the 48–72 hour post-trip hold. The hold may be longer if there are unresolved incidentals, disputes, or other post-trip matters.

Return and close

Return happens with you too. Same host, same car, same trip record — the handoff closes where it opened.

What WeCar keeps

You set the price. WeCar's fee is computed on the base amount excluding tax and depends on what the booking includes:

Rental and extras

10% of the base amount (excluding tax)

Delivery and after-hours

5% of those amounts (excluding tax)

Fees are deducted from your earnings before payout.

Insurance and responsibility

You hold the vehicle and the insurance. WeCar requires you to attest that your vehicle has insurance that covers third-party commercial use by guests before your listing goes active. WeCar does not verify policy terms or coverage adequacy.

Note: standard personal auto policies in Mexico typically exclude commercial third-party use. Confirm with your insurer that your policy covers guests using your vehicle under a platform booking.

Guest responsibilities

Fines, traffic violations, and tolls incurred during the trip; fuel and cleanliness obligations; damage beyond normal wear when guest misuse is established; late return; and good-faith cooperation after incidents including timely reporting to WeCar and the host.

WeCar's role

Requires and records host insurance attestation. Coordinates between host and guest after incidents. Not an insurer, underwriter, or guarantor of outcomes — your policy and your insurer govern coverage.

If something happens during a trip, contact WeCar and the guest right away. The local team is available 8am–8pm.

Security deposits

You can declare an optional deposit for your vehicle. The amount and accepted methods are shown to the guest before they book — no surprises at pickup.

Deposits are collected and returned by you directly. WeCar records the lifecycle but does not hold the funds.

If you need to cancel

Notify the guest through WeCar as early as possible. If you cancel a confirmed trip, you forfeit your payout for that trip and the guest receives a full refund.

Hosts who cancel frequently may have their listings suspended.
