Getting started guide for Hosts on WeCar

1. Go to the Become a Host page and sign in
Visit the Become a Host page on our website and sign in with your WeCar account. You will be redirected to the app to start the hosting process. If you don’t have an account, create one—it only takes a minute!
✅ Important Requirements:
You must be at least 21 years old
Have a valid Mexican driver’s license
💡 Tip: For hosts adding their second or subsequent vehicles, you’ll skip the profile and payment setup steps and go directly to creating your vehicle listing.
2. Set up your host profile (first vehicle only)
For your first vehicle, complete your host profile to build trust and improve your chances of bookings.
Upload a profile picture
Add a short bio introducing yourself and your hosting experience
Verify your phone number
Upload your driver’s license for verification
💡 Tip: A friendly and complete profile reassures guests and improves your booking success rate. For future vehicles, you can skip this step.
3. Tell us about your car
Provide the basic details about your vehicle to create an accurate and appealing listing:
VIN: Automatically detects make, model, and year (enter manually if needed)
Seats and doors: Specify the seating and door count
Odometer reading: Indicate the current mileage
Fuel type: Specify gasoline, diesel, or electric
💡 Tip: Accurate specifications help guests choose the right car and improve search visibility.
4. Add vehicle details, description, and photos
Vehicle description
Describe your car’s key features and benefits to help it stand out:
Highlight comfort, fuel efficiency, or any special features
Mention suitability for different trip types (family vacations, road trips, etc.)
💡 Tip: A well-written description helps guests imagine themselves driving your car, making it more likely to book.
Photos
Upload at least 6 photos to showcase the car’s exterior and interior:
Front, rear, and side exterior views
Interior views including seats and dashboard
Trunk or cargo space
💡 Tip: Take photos in good lighting, ideally outdoors during the day. Clean, well-presented cars attract more bookings.
5. Set availability and booking preferences
Availability settings
Customize how and when your car can be booked:
Notice period: Minimum time required before a booking can be made
Trip duration: Minimum and maximum allowed booking lengths
Availability calendar: Manage when your car is available for rental
💡 Tip: Flexible availability maximizes your booking potential, but ensure it fits your personal schedule.
6. Set up your payment account with Stripe (first vehicle only)
WeCar uses Stripe Connect to securely process payouts. For your first vehicle, you’ll be guided through creating a Stripe account. You’ll need to:
Verify your identity
Provide valid bank account information for payouts
💡 Tip: Double-check your bank details to avoid payout delays. For future vehicles, you can skip this step, as your Stripe account will already be linked.
7. Submit your vehicle listing for review
Once you’ve filled out the required details, you can submit your vehicle listing. We’ll review it to ensure it meets WeCar’s standards and maintains quality across the platform.
💡 Note: Listings with high-quality photos and accurate details are more likely to pass the review quickly.
8. Recommended: Keep your listing updated
Maintaining an updated listing improves your chances of receiving more bookings.
Update photos regularly: Ensure they reflect the car’s current condition
Keep descriptions accurate: Add any new amenities or upgrades
Review availability settings: Ensure your calendar reflects when the car is actually available
💡 Tip: Regular updates help boost visibility and keep your listing competitive.
